Meet Zahraa Mancy, a mother, biologist, and the heart behind Nuzi Nutrition. Our journey is one of love, resilience, and an unwavering quest to give our son the healthy, happy life he deserves.
But out of a challenge came discovery...
When our son was born, it didn’t take long for us to realize that his path would be different. He faced developmental delays and was eventually diagnosed as neurodivergent. Our days quickly became filled with therapy appointments, sleepless nights, and a thousand questions without clear answers. We felt lost, overwhelmed by the challenges of picky eating, texture sensitivities, and disrupted sleep cycles that left us all exhausted. It broke my heart to see him unable to eat many iron-rich foods because of his texture sensitivities. When he developed severe anemia and the synthetic iron supplements weren’t helping, we had to find a solution.
My husband, an Internal Medicine Physician, and research deep into iron-rich foods, exploring every possible way to improve our son’s health. It was then that we began to understand the unique nutritional needs of neurodivergent individuals and the importance of organ meats for cognitive development. We rediscovered a long-forgotten superfood from ancient Mesopotamian diets: beef liver.
But knowing about beef liver and getting our son to consume it were two very different things. We knew he wouldn’t eat meat, especially with his sensitivities, and finding halal beef liver powder was nearly impossible. So, we made our own! We transformed our kitchen into a lab, spending countless hours experimenting to make beef liver palatable. I mixed the liver powder into his favorite peanut butter, hoping he would eat it.
After many trials, we finally created a finely ground beef liver powder that could be encapsulated—using only 100% grass-fed, certified halal ingredients. Unlike many other beef liver supplements on the market filled with chemicals and preservatives, our product contains just one pure ingredient: beef liver powder. This natural solution allowed us to elevate our son's iron levels and improve his overall health. The transformation was incredible. He started sleeping better, concentrating more, and even enjoying his peanut butter (with beef liver powder) sandwiches!
